Leon Belmont, a former baron and a member of the Belmont clan who seeks to rescue his kidnapped fiancé Sara Trantoul. His close friend, Mathias Cronqvist, who recently lost his wife Elisabetha, gives him information about Sara's whereabouts before the game begins. During the game, he encounters an alchemist Rinaldo Gandolfi, a resident of the forest outside Walter’s castle. Walter Bernhard, a vampire, serves as the game's antagonist.
